IE8 final is now available for download at http://www.microsoft.com/ie8. The product is available in 25 languages for the following platforms:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows XP x64
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows Server 2003 x64
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows Vista x64
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows Server 2008 x64

Windows 7 beta users might want to be a bit more patient with getting their hands on IE8 final as it is not available yet. As you may already know IE8 is a component of Windows 7 (removable through Add/ Remove Windows Components) and for that reason there is no separate release. Some rumours point at the 10th of April as a possible Windows 7 RC release date to the public, while others, 10th of May. In an interesting document about how to properly test web browser performance, Microsoft indicates IE8 to be faster than Firefox and Chrome. I wont comment on that but you can have a look at it here.
